Step: 1

Draw a strawberry shape.

Step: 2

Draw a half donut shape at the top of your strawberry shape.
This half donut shape is called the Aorta, and this is the artery that carries you (the blood cell) throughout the body on the rollercoaster ride.

Step: 3

Draw a shape that looks like the nozzle or top of a spray bottle, right under the Aorta (half donut shape).
This nozzle shape you are drawing is the called the pulmonary artery, and this is the tube that carries you from the Right Ventricle to the lungs on the heart roller coaster

Vocabulary Words

Step: 4

Draw a small ghost shape partially hiding behind the Aorta (the donut shaped tube).

This ghost shape is actually the outside of the Right Atrium which we will learn about in another step.

Step: 5

At the top of the Aorta (the donut shape tube) draw a thin oval, and then connect that oval to the ghost shape using a curvy line.

The curvy line and oval that you just drew is called the Vena Cava which are the large veins that carried you from the body into the heart on the rollercoaster ride.

Step: 6

Draw a lumpy square at the top of the right side of the heart, and then a lumpy triangle right below the square.

The heart has 4 chambers, 2 on each side of the heart. During the ride you enter through the upper chamber on the right side which is called the Right Atrium. Then you get pumped down into the lower chamber called the Right Ventricle which will take you to the lungs.

Step: 7

We are going to repeat what we did for step 6, but on the left side of the heart. Draw a lumpy square at the top of the left side of the heart, and then a lumpy triangle to the left below the square.

On your way back into the heart you will enter the upper left chamber called the Left Atrium. From there the lower chamber called the Left Ventricle will send you throughout the body.
